Terms of Use
Last updated August 12, 2026 ยท applies to Chexlist v0.1.0 (V1)
These terms cover your use of the Chexlist Chrome extension. By installing or using Chexlist, you agree to them.
What Chexlist is
Chexlist is a browser extension that lets you build a checklist out of elements on a web page, then highlights those elements again later. It runs entirely in your browser: there is no account, no backend, and no data leaves your device. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail on what is stored and where.
Your responsibility
- You're responsible for the checklists you create and the pages you use Chexlist on.
- Use Chexlist only on pages you're authorized to access, and in line with the terms of those sites.
- Chexlist never clicks, edits, or submits anything on a page on your behalf โ every action described in a checklist is something you or your teammate performs yourselves. Chexlist is a guide, not an automation tool.
No warranty
Chexlist is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. In particular:
- Selector matching is a best-effort heuristic. A saved checklist item may stop finding its element if the underlying page changes significantly โ that's why every item carries a reliability grade rather than a guarantee.
- Chexlist is V1 software: no accounts, no sync, no automatic conflict resolution between devices. If you use it in more than one Chrome profile, checklists do not carry over automatically.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chexlist's creators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the extension, including errors or omissions in a checklist you or a teammate built.
Chrome Web Store
Installing Chexlist through the Chrome Web Store also means you're bound by Google's own Chrome Web Store terms for that store listing.
Changes
These terms may be updated as Chexlist evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
